Auctioneers- Ocean City MD- Annapolis MD- Cambridge MD

Eastern Shore Auctions goal is to make the auction process as easy and enjoyable as possible for you. Once you decide to use our business for your auction needs, sit back and relax; leave the work to us.

The first step is for us to meet to evaluate the estate or items you wish to sell. We will offer advice as to how we feel it is best to liquidate your assets. You will then be presented an auction contract explaining the terms of the auction.

We will discuss an advertising plan to effectively promote your auction. In addition to advertising in local and national publications, Eastern Shore Auctions uses a variety of additional means to market your auction.

Eastern Shore Auctions is one of the few auction companies that still use direct mailings. We have an established list of auction attendees that have attended and purchased items from us in the past. Additionally, we send email notifications to a large number of auction attendees and interested buyers. Other advertising methods include:

  • The use of internet websites
  • Promotional flyer
  • Social media
  • Catalogue of items (depending on auction)
  • Private showings.

The organization of your auction is something we take pride in. Proper preparation prior to the day of sale ensures auction day runs much more smoothly. That's why we are present at every stage of the auction process. We separate small items into table lots, those that we know can be sold individually, and box lots, contents that can be grouped together. Photographs are taken of your items during this organization process and downloaded to the websites to attract more bidders.

Our staff members used to assist us with preparation and on the day of the auction includes current and former Maryland State Troopers, a county Fire Marshall, a registered nurse and a school principal.

We strive to provide excellent customer service to our auction clients. Review the TESTIMONIAL section of our website to read what our customers are saying about us.

Our success as an auction company is evident in the sales of real estate and personal property and through the confidence and trust instilled in us by our customers. We deal with all of our clients personally and present them with an effective marketing strategy to sell their real estate and/or personal property. We combine prior knowledge, expertise and over eighty years of auction experience of O.J. and Ron Brittingham to effectively market properties for our clients. We study market trends and discuss these trends with the seller to educate them throughout the auction process.

Our appreciation of the community is evident in the number of benefit auctions we conduct "to give back to those who give to us."

Eastern Shore Auction's appreciation for their customers is immeasurable.

Eastern Shore Auctions can trace its roots back to O.J. Brittingham, a full service auctioneer who served the Eastern Shore for over forty years. OJ conducted all types of auctions including farm auctions, real estate and personal property auctions. He was well known for conducting auctions at the Eastern Shore Vegetable Growers Cooperative Inc. auction block in Princess Anne as well as the Laurel Auction Block and Hearn's Produce in Salisbury where he sold farmers wares.

One of O.J.'s sons, Ron Brittingham, began auctioneering with his father at a young age. Ron continued to auctioneer for over forty years providing full service auction services in Maryland, Virginia and Delaware. One of Ron's most memorable auctions was the sale of over 10,000 license plates in Delmar, MD. He also rented the Hess space at the old Salisbury Mall where he conducted many antique and personal property auctions. Additionally, Ron conducted auctions of surplus items for Wicomico and Worcester County, as well as the Wicomico and Somerset Young Farmer's Auctions. Through Ron's experience and tutelage, Willie began his auction career.

Willie began his auction career with Ron Brittingham Auctioneers, in 1988 when he married Susan Brittingham, the daughter of Ron and Mary Jane. Willie learned the auction business from the ground level by working in the pit and helping organize items for sale. After several years, Willie became the clerk for Ron and later learned to auctioneer. As the business grew, so did Willie's experience. Willie auctioneered for Ron Brittingham Auctioneers for 14 years.

In 2007, Willie and Susan opened Eastern Shore Auctions, Inc. after numerous requests from auction goers who wanted him to return to auctioneering. People of the Eastern Shore wanted an honest auctioneer who they knew they could trust. Willie brings his 27 years' experience as a Maryland State Trooper to his auction business. He brings integrity, honesty, and professionalism to the auction industry.
